JUBIDA – Jurnal Kebidanan is committed to maintaining academic integrity, originality, and ethical standards in scholarly publishing. All manuscripts submitted to the journal must be original works and must comply with accepted standards of academic writing and publication ethics.
Plagiarism in any form is considered a violation of publication ethics and will not be tolerated.
Plagiarism is the act of using another person's ideas, words, data, research findings, images, tables, or other intellectual contributions without proper acknowledgment or citation.
Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:
Direct Plagiarism: Copying text or material from another source without quotation or appropriate acknowledgment.
Mosaic Plagiarism: Combining phrases or passages from multiple sources without adequate attribution.
Paraphrasing without Attribution: Rewriting another author's ideas without citing the original source.
Data and Figure Plagiarism: Using another person's data, tables, figures, photographs, or illustrations without proper acknowledgment or permission where required.
Self-Plagiarism: Reusing substantial portions of one's own previously published work without appropriate citation or disclosure.
Duplicate or Redundant Publication: Submitting or publishing substantially similar work in more than one publication without appropriate disclosure and editorial approval.
All manuscripts submitted to JUBIDA – Jurnal Kebidanan may be screened using plagiarism detection software, such as Turnitin or other equivalent tools, before proceeding to the peer-review process or at other stages of editorial evaluation.
The editorial team evaluates similarity reports carefully and considers the nature, location, context, and source of matching text. Similarity scores alone do not determine whether plagiarism has occurred.
Common phrases, properly cited quotations, reference lists, and standard methodological descriptions may contribute to similarity scores and should be evaluated appropriately.
JUBIDA – Jurnal Kebidanan applies a maximum similarity threshold of 20% as an initial screening guideline. Manuscripts exceeding this threshold may be returned to the authors for revision or undergo further editorial assessment.
A similarity score below 20% does not automatically guarantee that a manuscript is free from plagiarism. The editorial team reserves the right to reject manuscripts with evidence of plagiarism regardless of their overall similarity score.
When plagiarism or other forms of publication misconduct are suspected or identified, the journal may take one or more of the following actions, depending on the severity and circumstances:
Request an explanation or clarification from the author.
Return the manuscript for correction and proper citation.
Reject the manuscript if substantial plagiarism or serious ethical violations are identified.
Suspend the editorial process while an investigation is conducted.
Contact the author's affiliated institution when necessary and appropriate.
Issue a correction, retraction, or other post-publication notice if misconduct is confirmed in a published article.
The journal follows fair and transparent procedures when investigating suspected cases of plagiarism.
Authors submitting manuscripts to JUBIDA – Jurnal Kebidanan are responsible for:
Ensuring that their manuscripts are original and properly cited.
Providing accurate references for all sources used.
Obtaining permission for copyrighted materials when required.
Disclosing any substantial overlap with their previously published work.
Revising manuscripts when legitimate citation or originality concerns are identified.
Ensuring that all co-authors are aware of and comply with the journal's publication ethics requirements.
The editorial team is responsible for assessing similarity reports, evaluating suspected plagiarism, and determining appropriate actions in accordance with the journal's publication ethics policies.
All cases will be handled confidentially and fairly, with consideration given to the available evidence, the author's explanation, and relevant publication ethics guidance, including recommendations from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
By submitting a manuscript to JUBIDA – Jurnal Kebidanan, authors acknowledge their responsibility to uphold academic integrity and comply with this Plagiarism Policy. Manuscripts that violate this policy may be rejected, and published articles may be subject to correction or retraction where warranted.
