Abstract

This study explores the development of Information and
Communication Technology (ICT) and its relevance in enhancing
efficiency within the education sector. The research highlights how ICT,
particularly through e-learning platforms and digital communication
tools, significantly reduces the time required for distributing learning
materials and fosters improved interaction between teachers and
students. These advancements contribute to a more flexible, engaging,
and effective learning process. However, the study also identifies several
challenges in implementing ICT in education, including limited
infrastructure such as electricity and internet access, resistance from
educators due to lack of digital skills or apprehension toward change,
and the high initial costs associated with technology adoption. Despite
these obstacles, the findings suggest that with adequate policy support,
capacity building, and investment, ICT has the potential to transform
educational systems by increasing operational efficiency and
broadening access to quality learning. This research underscores the
importance of addressing infrastructural and human resource barriers
to fully realize the benefits of ICT in education, ultimately contributing
to improved educational outcomes and equity.
